MGN-3 is a natural dietary supplement derived from rice bran that has been treated with enzymes from shiitake mushrooms, resulting in a compound high in arabinoxylan. It is widely used as an immunomodulator, particularly for supporting immune function in patients with cancer, HIV, or chronic hepatitis C. 

Key Findings on Efficacy:
Immune System Support: Studies indicate that BioBran MGN-3 can significantly boost the activity of Natural Killer (NK) cells (by as much as 300%), as well as T and B cells (by 200% and 150%, respectively).

Cancer Adjunct Therapy: Research, including in vivo studies and small human trials, suggests that MGN-3 BioBran can inhibit tumor growth, induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells, and act synergistically with chemotherapy agents, enhancing their effectiveness while potentially reducing their side effects.

Antiviral Properties: In vitro studies have shown that it can significantly reduce viral loads, including for SARS-CoV-2 (by up to 91.9%) and Hepatitis C.
Influenza-like Illness (ILI) Reduction: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study on elderly subjects showed that taking 500 mg/day of BioBran reduced the incidence of ILI by approximately 80%.

Radiation Protection: It has been shown to protect against radiation-induced damage by reducing oxidative stress and supporting the hematopoietic system.
